Making Global connections: World Studies 8-13 A world studies Workbook (91.02) In another in this wonderful series, David Hicks ponders that the last decade of the 2oth century promises to be an eventful one. This title pursues the paradigm of global education and explores the different perspectives of the world that an educator must perceive and contextualise for her students. The simple statement that asserts "if we wish to help our pupils learn about the wider world and about our place in the global web, we need ourselves to understand something about the state of the planet at the close of this century. I am concerned that these works do not yet acknowledge the networking possibilities of electronic mail. No doubt such technology will greatly enhance and position the world studies movement in the coming years. A very practical and useful text for classroom teachers.
