An appeal to abandon IE based on esthetics. There a lot of good reasons to abandon Windows Internet Explorer. It hasn't had a meaningful update since 1999, it has awful webstandards support, and its ubiquity threatens the Web's openness. However today I implore you to leave it behind based solely on esthetic reasons. IT"S UGLY. It renders Sites ugly, and it simply has no class. See this example of the same site render in two separate browsers, IE and Safari. Notice it's Horrid Text rendering (anti-aliased Type available only in XP) The navigation buttons should have a slightly transparent grey background, but IE can't seem to render nested CSS "Classes". It's lack of PNG support is keeping us from creating a new generation of eye-popping designs. Anticipating an update for this 'POS' is a lost cause, since now it seems that we'll be waiting for the release of Longhorn (2005?). So just stop waiting, experience the future now. Download Mozilla, Safari, or FireBird. You'll be glad you did.
