Future of Fishing Tied to Farms (OneWorld.net). OneWorld.net - WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct 3 (OneWorld) -- Aquaculture, the farming in captivity of fish previously caught only in the wild, is likely to double by the year 2020, by which time it will account for more than 40 percent of the world's total fish consumption, according to a report released Thursday by the Washington-based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the WorldFish Center in Malaysia.
