The US experience with their section 508 accessibility legislation is worthy of close attention.
Ray Williams points out that "it has been a year since Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act went into effect, requiring federal agencies to make sure their Web sites and office technology can be used, or "accessed," by people with a variety of disabilities."
"So far, progress toward implementing Section 508 has been inconsistent."
